In this video essay, I discuss how physical media has been affected by the digitalization of entertainment media. My main points of reference throughout the video essay are movies and TV shows, namely their place on streaming platforms vs DVDs.

Very interesting topic! I am also hesitant to buy things that are only digital because of the indirect ownership, how could I own something that is not physically mine? seems a bit like a waste of money. the solution of buying physical copies is a nice one, but as you have explained also is not perfect because of limited production or the pricing. nevertheless, i have recently also bought and started looking for physical copies of my favorite movies( mostly movies that are already a bit older so they are thankfully not that expensive). Luckily we still have a dvd-player at home so that i can actually watch them.
