Hi everyone! I present to you my attempt at making a fun video about one of my favourite games and uncovering what makes it so appealing to me. For montage I used Shotcut and it was quite a journey for someone with barely any experience, but I would definitely recommend it to other amateurs.
Please enjoy!

I get what you’re saying about the sims being boring! I also play this game and have racked up about 2000 hours in it. I kind of disagree with the winning argument. The Sims can be whatever you want: want to kill as many sims as possible as soon as possible? Go for it! Want to just play and let it run? Also possible! But it definitely adds to relaxation for me, though I can spend hours on it which means I only play sometimes. I am still confused by people who hate on other people’s leisure activity, just let people be! They’re not harming you. Also love the speed build format you used for this, you could have commented on how this format is used on Youtube a lot as it adds more to the Digital Media aspect. I also thought the music was sometimes more present than your voice, so the music could have been turned down a little (just a little tip if you make a video next time). It was a very enjoyable video for me though!
I Found this a very interesting topic you talk about. I completly understand where you are coming from. I also have my games that i play if in just want some time to layback and relax. Which in most cases are Minecraft or one of Paradox grand strategie games. Where i just play solo and do what i want without goals in mind. Some people just like to play against other people but i think it is just stressfull. I understand that you don’t go outside at night in minecraft because it is stressful. Everybody finds games relaxing because of their own reasons but just don’t say something negative about what somebody else plays to relax.
Hey! I love this video, I, too, have a periodical obsession with the sims 4. I don’t per say agree that the game is boring, or lame. It is relaxing to me, as a person with anxiety because it’s like playing with a dollhouse. You are in control, and you get to make out of the sims what you want. You can set out a plan to build full an entire neighbourhood etc. I just think the sims 4 is more of an independent game where you get to set your own goals, much like an open-world game.
Also I love your build!
Thanks for the introduction to this new game! I think you’ve made an interesting connection and comparison between games that calm you down and give a chill environment. I think that everyone, or at least people who play any form of games, has something that they consider to be a comfort game, something that doesn’t require too much out of their brain or graphics they enjoy etc.
I don’t super love the sims, but you’ve made a great case for it, and games are subjective, each person has something that they really love. I like that this is a video as well, it could have easily been a podcast, but I think the example and building really helps exemplify the calm atmosphere of the game!
