In this video essay, I’m going to discuss the development in the use of digital technology in the Italian education system. I’m going to talk about how is the current situation, what are future plans to reform the education system and how are Italian schools dealing with AI.

Although the transformation of the classroom and the introduction of the new software are still underway, I would say the new digital introduction in Italian education is progressive and comparatively advanced. When I saw the future classrooms of School 4.0, I thought that education and studying in school would be more individual, even if we sit at the same table, since we would focus on our own screens. In my home country, Japan, the teachers haven’t mentioned using AI during education, even though we use it outside of school. Perhaps, as you said, it’s because they haven’t prepared yet. Also, the differences and inequality between district and school institutions needs to be discussed since it has a significant effect on students’ future. For example, a technical high school has better knowledge basics of AI and accessible digital education as it is mentioned in a video. It’s important to discuss when introducing AI for both teachers and students, because a lot of students depend on AI now. I hope that events like NextGen AI happen again and are not only temporary. I really enjoyed watching your Video!
