When you want to listen to music, your first instinct is to go to Spotify. That’s why it’s the largest company in the music industry and has been number one in the industry rankings for years. The difference in ranking between Spotify and other music companies is so great that no one can really catch up with Spotify anymore.
The United States is the largest user of Spotify. A quarter of Spotify users come from America. This is, of course, because it is a large part of the world’s population and they love music there. There are also many new artists in America who use Spotify to publish their music. This is an easy way to distribute your music and it can be listened to all over the world.

I thought Spotify was founded in America because it has so many users there. But I just found out that it originally comes from Sweden. It originated because people in Sweden were downloading a lot of illegal music. This caused a lot of division and many competitors. Then they came up with the concept of Spotify, where you could legally listen to songs by artists. This was quite a boom because you could easily create a free or paid account and everyone could enjoy this music.
Later, Spotify was expanded even further to broaden its target audience. It no longer just offered songs to listen to, but expanded its concept to include storytelling, podcasts, background sounds, and more. This made the company more interesting to more people, and the number of users increased again.
The rankings show that Europe is also a major user of Spotify. Anyone who wants to listen to music goes to Spotify. It has become so ingrained that it is impossible to imagine life without it. Nowadays, you simply ask someone to turn on Spotify instead of asking them to turn on the music. Why has it become so normal for everyone to use Spotify? Because if you turn on a music list and you use a different app for this, people just look at you strangely. Even though it’s not mandatory to use Spotify. This creates a lot of social pressure that is increasingly directed at you. As a result, users of other music apps switch back to Spotify, otherwise they don’t belong to the group or are looked at strangely.
All of this has contributed to Spotify becoming such a large company and continuing to grow. Its competitors no longer stand a chance against Spotify, as they are undermined in every possible way by loyal Spotify users worldwide.
