The internet or the digital world provides many opportunities nowadays, and one of them is the learning for free . However, is it really for free or limited? Well, we will ty to discover the pros and cons of such approach. GitHub for instance has over 128 million users worldwide, we never see it on news headlines as the most of other platforms, mainly social media platforms and hearing mainly about negative reputation innovations that are still in the development and need some time to gain support and of course financial support to develop further. GitHub serves as a platform in which developers, and coders gather and share their knowledge or learn from someone else’s knowledge as you can contribute to the open source platform in many ways. Now, what does open source platform mean? I will try to trust Google this time and bring its definition precisely; “Generally, open source refers to a computer program in which the source code is available to the general public for use or modification from its original design. Code is released under the terms of a software license. Depending on the license terms, others may then download, modify, and publish their version (fork) back to the community.” says Wikipedia.
I kept looking for many resources about the definition and under which category it falls. As you see, it mainly falls under the software category. As such, the open source platforms provide many valuable information for the Information Technology sector. And this sector has a great potential in the future, much bigger than nowadays.

As you can see, the open source platforms have great potential in upgrading your career and get visible for many companies that seek experienced people in the industry. By contributing to such open source platforms, and share your work that might solve an issue many people are struggling the right approach to solve it. The question is; how open is it? Well, at some point you do have to pay some fees in order to access more aspects of the platform. Moreover, nowadays, we see many initiatives to build such platforms to enable creativity and give a space with less boundaries and struggles. As such, the Blockchain which is thriving towards this approach, even though it is different with the Blockchain. Platforms such as, Moralis.io which was built by several developers that are into Blockchain has a good potential to ease access to tools that help developers or beginners to create something. The aim of this open source platform is to provide the necessary tools for beginner and pro developers to build Dapps(decentralised applications) using various blockchains integrated within the platform itself, just like WordPress, in which you can find all the tools you need to help you build a website, using many resources
In the coming blog, I will go through the Blockchain and its hype, use cases and abuse. An innovation that was meant for something else and ended up being used in different ways, or on the same path as it was visualised by the anonymous creators earlier and improved by the well known ones later.
Great post! Open source software is something to be treasured, as having access to the source code is a necessity for software to be completely transparent and accessible. I fear for a possibility in which software is not open source anymore and you never really know what you’re installing on your computer. If I understand your post correctly, integrating blockchain technology can help open source software developers gain some financial results from their work, which seems great. But I hope that open source software stays as open as it can possibly be and that the blockchain technology does not interfere in this, although that possibility might be far-fetched.
