This week we talk about the game’s high difficulty and self-imposed challenges. The Pokemon community is (in)famous for the Nuzlocke challenge, which sets the rules that if the pokemon dies, you need to release them forever. The topic today is inspired by our daily discussion when talking about if I’m finally going to do the challenge myself on the latest release of Pokemon violet and scarlet game. The topic is related to the gaming community culture and game design.

Nice podcast! You guys make great podcast partners.
Although my knowledge on games is limited and my gaming career, (if you can even call it that) began and ended with Minecraft, I can still relate to the self-imposed challenges you mention. Giving your all to finish the game and putting way too much time in it to get that amazing feeling when you win in the game is nonetheless, very very familiar.
